The National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, has fiercely called on voters in the Mfantseman Constituency to reject their current MP, Madam Ophelia Hayford, in the upcoming December elections, labeling her as a “non-performing MP.”
According to Gyamfi, Hayford’s contribution in Parliament amounts to nothing more than filling a seat, with no meaningful impact or advocacy for her constituents.
Speaking in the fishing communities of Abandze and Kromantse during a campaign tour alongside Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Gyamfi did not hold back in his criticism.
He described Hayford as a “yea yea MP”—someone who blindly agrees in Parliament without providing any tangible benefits to the people she claims to represent. Her lack of effective representation, he argued, has stunted the development of the constituency.
In sharp contrast, Gyamfi praised the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Dr. Prince Kojo Arhin, highlighting his distinguished career in Human Resource management and his dynamic leadership qualities.
Gyamfi urged the people of Mfantseman to choose Dr. Arhin, stating, “Dr. Arhin will bring the quality representation that Madam Hayford has utterly failed to provide.”
Adding to the condemnation of the incumbent, Gyamfi noted that Madam Hayford’s failures have become a serious liability for the constituency, urging voters to oust her to secure a brighter future.
In response to a local appeal, the NDC delegation donated GHS10,000 to support a stalled community center project, showing their commitment to development—a sharp contrast to the incumbent’s inaction.
