Former National Deputy Treasurer and currently, the national director welfare highlights experience, party unity and grassroots mobilisation as key pillars of her ambition ahead of the party’s national delegates’ congress.
Former National Deputy Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Vida Addae, currently the national director welfare has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson, citing her years of dedicated service, extensive consultations with party members and commitment to strengthening the party’s organisational structures.
Her declaration comes as the party continues its internal reorganisation following constituency-level elections across the country, with attention turning to the selection of national officers who will lead the NDC into the next phase of its political journey.
Hon. Addae believes her experience across the party’s grassroots, constituency, international and national structures has equipped her with the leadership skills and organisational competence required to contribute to the party’s continued growth and electoral ambitions.
According to her, the decision follows numerous appeals from grassroots members, friends and party faithful across the country, alongside careful reflection on the future direction of the party.
“In response to the numerous calls from our dedicated grassroots, friends and party faithful, and after careful introspection and extensive consultations with the rank and file of our great party, I have decided to officially declare my intention to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson,” she stated.
A record of service across party structures
Hon. Addae’s political career spans several leadership positions within the NDC, including serving as Chapter Chairperson in Germany, Parliamentary Candidate for the Ejisu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, National Deputy Treasurer and National Welfare Director.
Her experience within the party’s international structures, constituency-level politics and national administration, she believes, has given her a broad understanding of the needs and expectations of party members.
She served for four years as NDC Chairperson in Germany, where she gained experience in party organisation and the coordination of members within the diaspora.
She subsequently served as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for Ejisu Constituency for four years, a role that exposed her to the demands of grassroots mobilisation, constituency engagement and electoral organisation.
At the national level, Addae has served as National Deputy Treasurer for eight consecutive terms, contributing to the party’s financial administration and organisational activities. She is also identified as the party’s National Director of Welfare, a position associated with the welfare and wellbeing of members.
“Having served our party in diverse leadership capacities, I am convinced that I have gained the experience, competence, and commitment required to answer the call to serve once again,” she said.
Grassroots mobilisation at the centre of her vision
A major pillar of Addae’s ambition is the strengthening of the party’s grassroots structures, which she considers essential to organisational cohesion and future electoral success.
She has pledged to prioritise grassroots mobilisation, resource mobilisation, fundraising, capacity building and sustained engagement with party members across the country if elected.

“My experiences in grassroots mobilisation, fundraising, equipping party faithful, and maintaining daily interactions with our grassroots have prepared me to help strengthen our party, deepen our ideology, and continue attracting the best people into our tradition,” she added.
Her proposed priorities reflect an emphasis on building stronger links between the party’s national leadership and its members at the constituency and branch levels.
For Addae, strengthening these structures requires not only mobilisation during election periods but also consistent engagement, organisational support and attention to the concerns of party faithful.
Unity and continuity ahead of the next electoral contest
The recent constituency elections have renewed discussions within the NDC about leadership renewal, continuity and the role of grassroots participation in shaping the party’s future.
Against this backdrop, Addae’s supporters are presenting her experience, commitment to party unity and longstanding involvement in party affairs as important considerations in the contest for national executive positions.
Her campaign message centres on the need to unite party members around a shared vision, strengthen internal structures and sustain the organisational momentum required for future electoral campaigns.
The broader objective, according to her stated priorities, is to build a party that remains connected to its grassroots while developing the capacity to respond to changing political and organisational demands.
Appeal to delegates and party faithful
As she seeks the support of delegates ahead of the forthcoming national delegates’ congress, Addae has called for unity and collective commitment to the party’s development.
“I humbly seek the support, confidence, and prayers of delegates, party faithful, friends, and well-wishers as I aspire to serve as the next National Vice Chairperson.
“Together, we can strengthen our structures, promote unity, and position our great party for even greater success,” she said.
Her declaration adds to the contest for key national executive positions as the NDC prepares to elect officers who will oversee its organisational direction and political activities in the coming years.
With her experience in international party organisation, constituency politics, national finance and member welfare, Hon. Vida Addae is positioning herself as a candidate whose ambition is rooted in years of party service and a commitment to grassroots engagement.
The national delegates’ congress will provide party delegates with the opportunity to determine the leadership that will guide the NDC through its next phase of organisation, mobilisation and electoral preparation.
