The campaign trail was no ordinary journey—it spanned the breadth of Ghana, reaching into every corner of society. From fishing villages along the coast to the bustling urban ghettos, from the open savannahs to the dense forests, we fought tirelessly for victory. And now, the results are in: John Dramani Mahama has secured a resounding 57.7% of the vote, while Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia takes 38.2%, earning what some humorously call the “Bronze Medal.”
But now, the question on the minds of many loyal NDC foot soldiers is, “What’s next?”
For some, the battle was about restoring the NDC to power—a labor of love for the party’s ideals and vision. For others, the motivation was more personal: hopes of securing government appointments, winning contracts, landing jobs in state institutions, or revitalizing struggling businesses under a supportive administration.
Whatever the reasons for joining the fight, one thing is clear: every effort matters. Whether you marched in the streets, mobilized in the communities, debated on social media, or knocked on doors, your dedication brought us to this moment of triumph.
As we transition from campaigning to governing, it is my fervent prayer that all NDC foot soldiers find their reward. May your hard work and sacrifices not go unnoticed. May the right opportunities and connections find you, and may the right leaders recognize your contributions.
This victory belongs to us all, but the real work begins now. Let us ensure this new era of NDC leadership is one that transforms lives, uplifts the nation, and keeps faith with those who believed in us.
Amen.
