UNITED CADRES FRONT (TEMA) Backs HON. Vida Adda’s National Vice Chairperson Ambition, Reaffirms Commitment To Grassroots Leadership

Chris Asher Jnr., a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Communications Team and Communications Officer of the United Cadres Front (Tema), has publicly declared his support, alongside the United Cadres Front (Tema), for the intention of the former National Deputy Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress and current National Director of Welfare, Hon. Vida Addae, to contest for the position of National Vice Chairperson of the party.

The declaration of support is grounded in Hon. Vida Addae’s experience within the party, her longstanding commitment to the ideals of the NDC, her dedication to party unity, and her engagement with grassroots structures. According to Chris Asher Jnr. and the United Cadres Front (Tema), her political journey and involvement in the affairs of the party reflect a commitment to collective responsibility, service and the strengthening of the NDC’s internal structures.

The United Cadres Front (Tema), in making this statement, seeks to rekindle the spirit of the grassroots agenda and reaffirm the importance of leadership that places the interests of the party and its members above personal considerations. The group believes that the NDC’s vision of building a strong, united and formidable political organisation must be anchored on leaders who understand the party’s history, appreciate the sacrifices of its members and remain committed to its founding principles.

Hon. Vida Addae’s record of service across different levels of the party is among the considerations highlighted by the cadres. Her previous role as National Deputy Treasurer and her current responsibility as National Director of Welfare have placed her within important aspects of the party’s organisational and administrative activities.

For the United Cadres Front (Tema), leadership must go beyond occupying positions. It must be demonstrated through consistent dedication, accessibility, loyalty, accountability and the willingness to work with every segment of the party. The group identifies these principles as important elements of Hon. Vida Addae’s political journey and believes they reflect the values of unity, probity and accountability that the NDC continues to uphold.

Furthermore, the cadres emphasise that the position of National Vice Chairperson carries significant responsibility for strengthening internal cohesion, encouraging active participation and ensuring that the concerns of party members at the grassroots receive meaningful attention. They stress the importance of leadership that recognises the contributions of ordinary members, particularly those who continue to work tirelessly to sustain the party’s structures at the constituency, regional and national levels.

The United Cadres Front (Tema) also underscores the need to preserve the culture of comradeship, mutual respect and collective action within the NDC. In their view, the party’s strength is closely connected to the commitment of its grassroots membership and the ability of its leadership to bring different interests together under a common purpose.

Chris Asher Jnr. maintains that the NDC must continue to promote a leadership culture that rewards dedication, encourages participation and recognises individuals who have consistently contributed to the party’s growth and development.

The group further calls on party faithful to engage constructively in the internal democratic process, recognising that healthy internal competition should strengthen rather than divide the party. The ultimate objective, they maintain, must be to protect the unity of the NDC and advance its collective vision.

As Hon. Vida Addae considers her ambition for the position of National Vice Chairperson, the United Cadres Front (Tema), through Chris Asher Jnr., has expressed its willingness to associate itself with her aspiration, citing her experience, party involvement and commitment to the principles of unity, probity and accountability.

The central message from the United Cadres Front (Tema) is clear: the grassroots agenda must remain central to the NDC’s leadership conversation, and the party must continue to recognise the importance of service, commitment, inclusiveness and collective responsibility in shaping its future.
