U-15 Stars Return Home with Heads Held High After Stellar Performance in Mondialito Tournament
The victorious national U-15 team has returned home to a hero’s welcome after clinching the 2025 Mondialito tournament with a thrilling 4-1 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final.
The team’s impressive performance in the tournament has earned them recognition and accolades from the football community.
Upon arrival, the team was greeted by prominent football officials, including Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association and Executive Council Member; Joe Abu Salam, Vice Chairman of the Juvenile (COLTS) Committee; and Michael Fiaduse, a member of the Juvenile (COLTS) Committee.
Ghana kicked off the tournament with an impressive 4-1 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv’s U-15 team in the first match, followed by a remarkable 8-0 victory over Maccabi Bnei Eilat.
The team continued their winning streak with a 2-0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva and a 4-0 thumping of Hapoel Tel Aviv, securing a spot in the final.
In the final, Coach Yaw Preko’s side took on Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv and defeated them 4-1 to claim the title. The team’s journey to the final was marked by impressive performances, showcasing their skills and determination.
The Ghana Football Association will continue to provide the team with matches to aid their development and transition into the National U-16 and U-17 teams, also known as the Black Starlets. With their recent success, the team is poised to make a lasting impact in the football world.
