Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira DCE Denies Borrowing from Disability Common Fund

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira, Hon. Patrick Fiable, has firmly denied allegations circulating on social media that he borrowed money from the Disability Common Fund.

Addressing the issue, Hon. Fiable clarified that the matter referenced in the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report, confirmed on April 17, 2025, pertained to a transaction that occurred under the previous administration. According to him, the funds in question were used to complete the Twifo Hemang District Court building and to organize an orientation program for newly elected assembly members, not for personal use.

> “It is important for the public to know that this issue did not happen under my tenure,” Hon. Fiable emphasized. “The borrowing was done before I assumed office, and all relevant details are clearly captured in the Auditor-General’s findings.”

The DCE further disclosed that the Assembly has so far received ₵5,936,360.09 from the District Assembly Common Fund for the first and second quarters of the year. From this amount, 60 persons with disabilities have already benefited from various forms of financial assistance.

Hon. Fiable assured the public that the Assembly’s management team is closely monitoring how the beneficiaries utilize the support to ensure transparency and sustainability.

> “We remain committed to empowering persons with disabilities in our district by ensuring that funds meant for their welfare are used for their intended purpose,” he added.
