Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sent a strong message to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West and Minister for Communications and Digitalisation. He has cautioned her to prepare to account to Ghanaians and her constituents, as the time for reckoning is drawing closer.
Speaking during his visit to the Ablekuma West constituency on the final day of his three-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Asiedu Nketiah expressed confidence in the NDC’s chances in the 2024 general elections. According to him, all signs point to an NDC victory in both the presidential and parliamentary polls.
Addressing party faithful and residents of the constituency, he urged them to vote massively for the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Rev. Kweku Addo. He emphasized that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its representative, Ursula Owusu, have failed to deliver on their promises to the people of Ablekuma West and Ghana at large.
Asiedu Nketiah accused Ursula Owusu of being complicit in questionable deals during her tenure as minister, citing the controversial Kelvin GVG contract as an example. He assured constituents that an NDC government would hold her and others accountable for any misconduct or abuse of office.
“Your MP, Ursula Owusu, will have to account for all the fake contracts and bad deals she signed as a minister. The time for accountability is fast approaching, and Ghanaians will demand answers,” he declared.
He called on constituents to come out in their numbers on election day, emphasizing the importance of voting early. “Before you attend to any other activity, go out and vote. Let’s make sure Rev. Kweku Addo and the NDC win decisively in Ablekuma West,” he urged.
The visit marked a significant moment in the NDC’s campaign efforts in the Greater Accra Region, as the party seeks to wrestle key parliamentary seats from the ruling NPP.
