THOMAS PARTEY FEATURES IN THE LATE ARSENAL 4-2 WIN OVER LEICESTER CITY

Black Stars captain Thomas Tei Partey starred in Arsenal’s 4-2 victory against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon. Partey returned to the starting eleven against Leicester after missing out on Arsenal’s win over Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners dominated the first half and were rewarded with the opener when Gabriel Martinelli broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. Just before halftime, Trossard made it two after Martinelli tied him up.

Back from recess, Leicester crawled their way back into the game. Justine scored a brace against all odds. His second strike was an outstanding volley from distance. With time running Arsenal needed to step up knowing  Manchester City had dropped points against Newcastle.

It looked as though the Foxes had claimed an unlikely point as goalkeeper Mads Hermansen pulled up tremendous saves but then came the decisive moment, 94 minutes in, as Trossard’s ball across forced an own goal from Wilfred Ndidi. And there was still time for more drama. Havertz had a frustrating afternoon and added a fourth to put the game to bed.

Partey put up a commanding display largely in the first half. Ethan Nwaneri replaced him in the 85th minute. The Ghanaian was rated 7.5 by goal.com
