Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has highlighted the stark contrast between the NDC’s past governance and the current hardships Ghanaians are facing under the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking at Nungua during his two-day tour of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Mahama acknowledged that while the NDC’s administration wasn’t perfect, it was far better than the current state of the country under the NPP.
“Things were not perfect under the NDC, but they were certainly better than what we are experiencing now. The NPP has plunged the country into severe economic hardship, yet they continue to defend their failures on the radio every morning,” he said.
John Mahama urged Ghanaians not to trust the NPP with another term, warning that the party is incapable of solving the nation’s economic crisis.
He added that the NPP’s dream of “breaking the eight” is unattainable as the NDC now holds the momentum.
He also outlined key policies aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians, including a proposed Women’s Development Bank to provide low-interest loans for market sellers.
Additionally, he pledged to prioritize vocational training to equip the youth with skills and reduce unemployment.
Mr. Mahama reiterated his commitment to creating jobs through his 24-hour economy policy, promising that this initiative would lead to an increase in employment opportunities across various sectors.
