Ghanaian Hip life musician, Natty Borax has revealed in an interview that he had received royalties from the station. The royalties paid by Ghana Music Right Organization (Ghamro) to musicians in this country are an insult to the artiste
According to Natty Borax, he had not heard from GHAMRO in two years.
“I have hit songs like Aseeho, Nana Yaa, Pantoma, Tene won, and all my songs. For two years, I didn’t receive any royalties from GHAMRO because of Covid. The outfit only gave me Ghs320 as my royalties. Is this not an insult?” he questioned.
He further stated that Carlos Sakyi’s administration was better than Rex Omar’s regime. “And the funny thing is, Ghs 320 was two years of accumulated royalties that they’ve not paid. I called Rex Omar and asked, why? Am I an emerging artist? Couldn’t you have given me just 1000 Ghs? Carlos Sakyi’s administration was better.
“So if I wasn’t working what would happen to me? Elsewhere, an artist with just one hit song will enjoy a huge amount of royalty till his deathbed,” he said.
