The Electoral Commission (EC) has launched its online exhibition of the provisional voters’ register starting today, Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
This exercise will continue until Saturday, October 19, 2024, as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure a clean and accurate voters’ register ahead of the 2024 General Election.
In an official statement, the EC encouraged all eligible voters to verify their details using the shortcode *711*51#, available free of charge.
This service allows voters to quickly and easily confirm their registration information, helping to identify any errors or discrepancies that need to be corrected.
The online platform offers an additional option for verification, allowing voters to visit the Commission’s website at https://ec.gov.gh.
By clicking the pop-up link in the bottom-right corner of the screen and entering their 10-digit Voter ID number, users can access their registration details.
The Commission emphasized the importance of reporting any discrepancies, which should be brought to the attention of the District Office where the voter is registered.
Timely reporting will enable the necessary corrections to be made before the final compilation of the register.
The EC further clarified that while the platform will remain accessible for voters to check their details after the exhibition period ends, no changes or corrections can be made beyond the October 19 deadline.
Political parties have also been urged to play their part in the process by submitting any inconsistencies identified during the exhibition period. The EC has provided a standardized template for parties to report these issues.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance transparency and ensure that the voters’ register is accurate and up-to-date ahead of the upcoming elections.
