On Friday, the Krowor constituency came alive with a colorful and well-attended celebration to mark the 41st National Farmer’s Day. The event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including farmers, traditional leaders, government officials, and community members, all united in recognition of the enduring resilience, sacrifice, and ingenuity of local farmers. These farmers continue to play an essential role in ensuring food security and driving economic growth in the region.
This year’s National Farmer’s Day observance was held under the inspiring theme: “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana and Secure the Future.” The theme resonated deeply with ongoing national efforts to transform agriculture into a more responsive, modernized, and productive sector that can meet the needs of Ghana’s growing population.

Adding to the discourse, Mr. Daniel Kanbienaa, the Agricultural Director for Krowor Assembly, elaborated on the significance of the day’s theme. “When we eat Ghana, we are putting money into the pockets of local farmers, fishermen, processors, and all actors along the agricultural value chain,” he explained. “Eating Ghana means creating jobs for unemployed youth and fostering the growth of our local economy.” Mr. Kanbienaa acknowledged that while Krowor may not have the largest pieces of land, it has shown remarkable progress in crop production, livestock rearing, mushroom farming, and fishing. He passionately encouraged everyone to utilize their backyard spaces for these activities. “Let us all engage in what we can do behind our backyards so that we can feed ourselves and contribute to feeding Ghana.”
The event was not just a celebration but a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility and potential of the community to foster agricultural growth. With unity and determination, Krowor continues to build a future where food security and prosperity are within reach for all.
