The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised serious concerns about the current voter register, declaring it unsuitable for the upcoming December 7 polls.
According to Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, there are five major issues with the voter register that could compromise the election’s integrity.
Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show, “Adekyee Mu Nsem,” Dr. Tanko argued that the current register is flawed and unfit for the electoral process.
He pointed out that the NDC had already written to the Electoral Commission (EC) on August 27, requesting an emergency meeting to address discrepancies discovered in the provisional register during the recent exhibition exercise.
Dr. Tanko went further to criticize the IT department of the EC, describing it as a “crime scene” that should be of concern to all stakeholders.
He emphasized that these issues need to be resolved urgently to ensure a fair and transparent election.
The NDC’s stance highlights the growing tension between the opposition party and the EC as the election date approaches, with the integrity of the voter register now a focal point of their concerns.
