The Government is Joking with Our Health – Hon. Charles Agbeve

Charles Agbeve, the Member of Parliament for Agotime-Ziope Constituency in Volta Region, criticized the government for neglecting the health sector.

He emphasized that the government is not giving enough attention to the health needs of the citizens.

In response to an ultimatum from the minority in parliament about medical essentials stuck at the port, MP Agbeve expressed concern over the situation.

He blamed the government for the delay in clearing the essential drugs.

During an interview on Ahotor FM’s morning show ‘Adekyee Mu Nsem’ with Citizen Kofi Owusu, Charles Agbeve held the government accountable for the backlog of drugs at the port.

The Minority Caucus in Parliament threatened to organize a protest if the government does not swiftly clear all containers holding crucial medical supplies at Tema Port.

This ultimatum came after the Health Minister instructed officials to expedite the clearance of donations from the Global Fund within two weeks.

Health Minister Bernard Okoe Boye pledged to personally oversee operations at the port if the deadline passes without action.

Charles Agbeve urged the government to promptly clear the containers and attend to the concerns raised by the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union.

He stressed that addressing these issues promptly would prevent health workers from seeking opportunities abroad.
