TGMA Opens Review Window: Artists Get Final Say Before Nominations Are Locked

The excitement surrounding the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) just hit a new level as organizers announced a special review period for artists and industry professionals to double-check their nominations. This move, aimed at ensuring fairness and accuracy, gives stakeholders until March 23, 2025, to flag any errors or omissions.

For many artists, the nomination process is a defining moment in their careers, and missing out due to technical errors or oversight can be heartbreaking. With this initiative, TGMA is giving musicians a voice in the process before the final list is locked in.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions in the music industry. While some see it as a progressive step toward transparency, others question whether it might open the door for unnecessary disputes.

Afrobeats singer Kelvyn Boy, who has been eyeing the Artiste of the Year slot, took to social media to express his support. “This is a great move! We work too hard for our music to be overlooked due to errors. Big up TGMA!” he posted.

However, a different perspective came from dancehall star Jah Lead, who cautioned against artists using the review window to push for undeserved nominations. “I hope people don’t abuse this. Let’s keep it clean and fair,” he tweeted.

How to Submit Concerns

Artists and industry professionals who spot issues in the nomination list can send their concerns via email to info@ghanamusicawards.com before the March 23 deadline. After this period, no further reviews will be entertained, and the final nomination list will be set in stone.

With the awards night drawing closer, all eyes are now on the TGMA team to see how they handle the expected flood of review requests. Will this move lead to a smoother awards process or stir up new controversies? One thing is certain—Ghana’s biggest music night just got a whole lot more interesting!
