TGMA is Not a Serious Organization – Lilwin

Kumawood actor and musician Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, has criticized the organizers of the TGMA (formerly VGMA) for their lack of seriousness.

Speaking in an interview with Papadat on Lawson FM, Lilwin expressed his frustration with the organization when asked why he hasn’t been recognized by the awards body.

According to Lilwin, despite producing numerous hit songs—sometimes multiple within a single year—he has consistently been overlooked by the TGMA. He claimed that the awards are not given based on merit, stating, “Unlike the saying ‘who the cap fits must wear it,’ the TGMA organizers tend to reward people they know, leaving out hardworking artists.”

However, the actor-producer admitted he is unbothered by the lack of recognition. Lilwin emphasized that awards without monetary benefits hold no value for him. “As long as I’m making money without TGMA recognition, I’m fine,” he added.
