The grassroots youth of Tema West are calling on the president to appoint Hon. Andrew Okine Okai is the next Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). According to the youth, Hon. Okine Okai stands out as the ideal candidate to deliver good governance and effective leadership for the municipality.
Speaking to Mercy Addai Turkson of Ahotor Newsroom , the youth expressed their confidence in Hon. Okine Okai’s track record of competence, dedication, and commitment to the development of Tema West. They believe his appointment would usher in a new era of accountability, transparency, and efficiency in managing the municipality’s affairs.
“If the government is serious about fostering good governance and ensuring that the work is done well, then Hon. Andrew Okine Okai is the right person for the job,” one of the youth leaders stated.
The group highlighted his deep understanding of the challenges facing the community, including issues such as infrastructure development, youth unemployment, and sanitation. They are convinced that his leadership would prioritize practical solutions to these pressing concerns while engaging the community in meaningful dialogue.
The youth also emphasized that Hon. Okine Okai’s approach to leadership aligns with the vision of the government to ensure development at the local level. “He is not only experienced but also passionate about serving the people. We strongly believe that with him as MCE, Tema West will experience significant progress,” they added.
This call from the grassroots reflects the growing demand for leaders who are both competent and attuned to the needs of the people. The youth have urged the President to listen to their appeal, asserting that Hon. Okine Okai’s appointment would not only meet their expectations but also solidify the government’s commitment to inclusive and effective governance.
According to them, Hon. Andrew’s two-term service as Tema West Constituency Secretary demonstrates his ability to lead effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders to address the community’s needs.
The residents emphasized that Hon. Andrew is not only a seasoned leader but also a native of Tema West who has lived and worked among them for years. “He was born here, raised here, and continues to reside here. He understands our challenges and aspirations better than anyone else,” a community spokesperson stated.
They highlighted his intimate knowledge of the constituency’s pressing issues, ranging from infrastructure development and youth empowerment to sanitation and local economic growth. They believe his familiarity with these challenges, coupled with his proven leadership skills, positions him as the ideal candidate to drive sustainable development in Tema West.
“We need someone who knows us, someone who feels our struggles and can offer practical solutions,” the group added. “Hon. Andrew has shown time and again that he is a dependable leader who can deliver results.”
The residents are therefore appealing to the Tema West Council, the Regional Office, and the President’s office to seriously consider their recommendation. They believe appointing Hon. Andrew, as MCE, would not only address the immediate needs of the municipality but also create a strong foundation for long-term growth and prosperity.
“We trust that the authorities will listen to our appeal and prioritize the welfare of the people by appointing Hon. Andrew. His appointment will be a win for Tema West and a step towards achieving our development goals,” they concluded.
