Techiman Eleven Wonders FC Hit with Domestic and International Transfer Ban Over Unpaid Dues to Moses Afriyie

Techiman Eleven Wonders FC, a Ghanaian football club that has been grappling with significant challenges both on and off the pitch, has now been hit with a severe sanction that could further deepen its struggles. The club has officially been banned from undertaking any domestic or international transfers following its persistent failure to comply with key decisions issued by the Players’ Status Committee and a subsequent Enforcement Decision from the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

At the heart of the matter is the club’s inability—or unwillingness—to settle outstanding payments owed to a player named Moses Afriyie. According to the details surrounding the case, the Players’ Status Committee had previously ruled in favor of Afriyie, ordering Eleven Wonders to pay him a specific amount that was due under the terms of his contract or related entitlements.

A clear deadline was granted to the club to fulfill this obligation, yet that deadline came and went without the required payment being made in full. Moses Afriyie, frustrated by the lack of action, formally notified the Ghana Football Association that Techiman Eleven Wonders FC had neglected and outright refused to comply with the ruling, even though sufficient time had been provided for the settlement.

In response to this non-compliance, the Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee took the necessary step of drawing the club’s attention to Article 15(1) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, which specifically addresses the enforcement of decisions handed down by the Players’ Status Committee.

This article serves as a critical mechanism within Ghanaian football governance to ensure that clubs respect and adhere to the outcomes of formal dispute resolutions involving players, coaches, or other stakeholders. The intention behind referencing this provision was to remind Eleven Wonders of their obligations and the potential consequences of continued defiance.

Rather than immediately imposing the harshest penalty, the Disciplinary Committee initially opted for a more measured approach. The club was issued a fine and granted yet another extension to complete the payment to Moses Afriyie.

This additional window was meant to give the struggling club one final opportunity to rectify the situation and avoid more drastic measures. However, the club once again failed to meet the extended deadline, demonstrating a pattern of non-compliance that left the authorities with little choice but to escalate the matter.

As a direct result of this repeated failure to obey the binding decisions, Techiman Eleven Wonders FC has now been slapped with a comprehensive transfer ban in line with Article 15(2) of the GFA Disciplinary Code. This ban prohibits the club from registering any new players, whether through domestic channels within the Ghanaian league system or via international transfers from foreign clubs.

The sanction is not indefinite in a literal sense; it is explicitly stated that the ban will remain in effect until the club fully settles the outstanding payments owed to Moses Afriyie. Once the debt is cleared in its entirety, the club can apply for the lifting of the restriction, but until that happens, their hands are effectively tied when it comes to strengthening or even maintaining their squad through the transfer market.
