Surcharge your appointees for causing judgement debt – govt told (audio)

The International Court of Arbitration has awarded a cost $134 million and an interest of $30 million against the govt of Ghana over the cancelation of Emergency Power Agreement with the GCGP limited.

The Contract was cancelled under the former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko on the basis that the country does not need the agreement.

The Court declaration is the payment of the full value of the Early Termination Payment with Mobilization, Demolition and preservation and maintenance cost from 12th November, 2018.

However, Executive Secretary of COPEG Duncan Amoah says, govt will send the right signals if it moves to surcharge its appointees whose actions and inactions caused the judgement debts.
