Suhum Youth Project, MCE and Narcotics Control Commission Lead Anti-Drug Health Walk

The Suhum Youth Project, led by Mr. Richard Yermoh, has partnered with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum, Hon. Lydia Ohenewaa Sarah, and the Narcotics Control Commission (NCC) to organize a health walk aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse in the municipality.

The event, which formed part of the Suhum Youth Rave initiative, brought together residents, students, local leaders, law enforcement officers, and other stakeholders to educate the public on the effects of substance abuse and promote healthy lifestyles among young people.

Speaking to Ahotor FM News Correspondent Eric Nyarko, Mr. Richard Yermoh said the initiative was necessary due to growing concerns over the impact of drug abuse on the youth, including its contribution to social challenges and road accidents. He urged young people to avoid peer pressure and make positive choices that will secure their future.

The MCE for Suhum, Hon. Lydia Ohenewaa Sarah, also used the occasion to caution young people against drug abuse, stressing that every youth deserves a brighter future. She announced that her administration will extend the anti-drug campaign to various communities and ghettos across the municipality to educate young people, engage stakeholders, and support persons struggling with addiction to recover and rebuild their lives.
