The Concerned branch executives of the NDC party in the Assin South Constituency have descended on some of the Constituency executives in Assin South to stop sabotaging their Parliamentary Candidate as all indications show they want to swerve him from being the next District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin South District.
According to the Concerned branch executives, Hon. Stephen Kofi Baidoo is the best person for the DCE position.
They said, “Hon. Stephen Kofi Baidoo has worked tirelessly in the just ended General Elections, which made the NDC party win the Presidential race in the history of politics in the Assin South Constituency and closed the Parliamentary gap between NPP and NDC from 15.94% in the 2020 elections to 4% in 2024.
The Concerned branch executives rubbish the allegations that the Parliamentary results were recounted, of which some people within the NDC party are saying the PC sold the results and he called for recounting, leading to his lost.
They also stressed that the Parliamentary Candidate contributed financially and logistically over a period of one and half years which led to the
Victory of the NDC Presidential Candidate in Assin South Constituency for the first time since the year 2000.
According to the Concerned executives, there is the need for the NDC party in Assin South to snatch the Parliamentary seat from the NPP so the need to appoint Stephen Kofi Baidoo as the DCE to champion development in the district for victory 2028.
The Concerned Branch executives further appealed to President John Dramani Mahama, The NDC National Executives to consider Hon. Stephen Kofi Baidoo for the position of the DCE for Assin South.
Addressing the Press, the spokesperson for the group, Obed Osman (Adepa), also cautions some of the Constituency executives to stop sabotaging their Parliamentary Candidate for the District Chief Executive position.
He said, “Appointing Stephen Kofi Baidoo as the DCE will be the best and will help the NDC party to consolidate is gains to win the Parliamentary seat come 2028.
Hon. Stephen Kofi Baidoo has fought a good fight with his blood, but some of the Constituency executives including the Constituency Chairman Thomas Cobbinah (Star Baby) worked against him which led to our lose in the Parliamentary elections.
He also pleaded with the National Executives not to pay too much attention to the false propaganda of some of the Constituency executives and if anything, they should come verify the truth from the branches.
He expressed that, for the Assin South Constituency to win both Presidential and Parliamentary seats coming 2028, it’s better they consider Stephen Kofi Baidoo as the DCE for Assin South District.
Meanwhile, Gh one News reporter Yaw Boagyan investigations have revealed that there was no re-counting of election results in Assin South Constituency in the just ended general election as some people are claiming that the NDC PC sold the election and called for a recount of results.
GH One investigations also revealed that there was no meeting between the PC, Electoral Commission and the MP for Assin South.
The NDCs own collation center results showed a loss for the NDC PC before going to the Constituency collation center.
It’s important to note that, NDC has not won the Parliamentary seat in Assin South for the last 24 years.
