Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, Member of Parliament for Agona West, has urged her party, the NPP, to stop accusing her campaign team of involvement in the alleged shooting of the party’s Nasara Coordinator. Morrison clarified that no member of her team possesses a gun.
This follows accusations that her team attacked the NPP parliamentary candidate and his supporters during a campaign in Agona Nyakrom around 7:30 pm.
Reports claimed a gunshot from Morrison’s team led to the injury of the Nasara Coordinator.
Speaking on the matter, Morrison, running as an independent candidate, dismissed the allegations as false, calling on Ghanaians to disregard them.
She explained that Hon. Afenyo Markins informed her of the incident by phone, mentioning names she insisted were inaccurate, as those individuals were with her and had no firearms.
Morrison stated that she questioned her team, confirming no one was armed. The incident has been reported to the police, and investigations are underway.
