Dear Comrades of the working class.On this historic May Day, 2025, we honour the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs of the working class in our country Ghana and across the globe.
As socialists, we recognize that the liberation of the working class from the shackles of exploitation and oppression is inseparable from the strugglefor socialism.
In Ghana, the working class continues to bear the brunt of neoliberal policies, austerity measures, and capitalist exploitation.
The ruling class, in collusion with imperialist forces, has perpetuated a system that prioritizes profits over people, leaving workers to face:- Low wages and poor working conditions- Limited access to quality education and healthcare- Insecure jobs and precarious livelihoods- Environmental degradation and resource depletion.
The crisis of capitalism is evident, and the need for revolutionary change is urgent. As socialists, we advocate for a socialist transformation that:- Places the means of production in the hands of the people- Prioritizes social welfare, equality, and justice- Fosters democratic participation, transparency, and accountability- Promotes sustainable development and environmental stewardshipWe must recognise ourselves as the working class being the driving force behind revolutionary change.
As the creators of wealth and the backbone of society, we workers have the power to:- Organize and mobilize against exploitation and oppression without fear- Build democratic, independent unions and worker organizations- Develop a revolutionary consciousness and a socialist worldview- Lead the struggle for socialism and a better world.
