Ghanaian football royalty Abedi Ayew, better known as Abedi Pele, has been named to the Inter-Ministerial Advisory Board on Sports by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams.
The appointment, confirmed by the Minister brings one of the continent’s most decorated players into the heart of government decision-making on sports policy for the first time.
Abedi Pele, the only Ghanaian to have won the African Footballer of the Year award three times and the architect of Olympique Marseille’s 1993 UEFA Champions League triumph, will now lend his voice and vision to shaping the future of Ghanaian sport at the highest level.
The advisory board’s membership comprises distinguished individuals from various sectors, reflecting a diverse approach to sports development. The list of members includes:
