The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has inaugurated Ghana’s first-ever Committee on Security and Intelligence, marking a historic milestone in the country’s parliamentary governance. This development comes in accordance with Order 258 (4) of the newly revised Standing Orders of Parliament, which officially came into effect in January 2024.
During the swearing-in ceremony, held in the parliamentary chamber, Speaker Bagbin emphasized the committee’s critical mandate, urging members to approach their duties with the highest levels of diligence, confidentiality, and patriotism.
