“Some Of Us Fear NDC Could Lose Focus and Hand Power Back to NPP” – GFL Secretary-General

TEMA,Ghana, 18 April: The Secretary-General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has cautioned the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain focused on delivering its transformation agenda, warning that any lapse could pave the way for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to return to power.

Speaking on Ahotor FM’s Yepe Ahunu programme on Saturday, April 18, Mr. Koomson said there is growing concern among some stakeholders that the NDC could lose momentum if it allows itself to be distracted.

According to him, the opposition NPP is deliberately employing diversionary tactics aimed at shifting the government’s attention away from its core mandate.

He alleged that some of these strategies include orchestrated activities intended to undermine public confidence in the government.

Mr. Koomson claimed, for instance, that individuals are allegedly being mobilised and presented as farmers in a bid to create a false narrative and tarnish the government’s image.

He therefore urged the leadership of the NDC to strengthen its grassroots structures to effectively counter what he described as misinformation being spread across various constituencies by the opposition.

The GFL Secretary-General warned that underestimating the opposition could be costly, stressing that the NPP remains active and determined to regain political power.

Mr. Koomson emphasised that the government must remain focused and proactive, cautioning that any missteps could reverse current gains and open the door for a political comeback by the opposition.
