Tema West Municipal Assembly has launched a significant healthcare initiative with a sod-cutting ceremony at Adjei Kojo Lorry Park for a new clinic project valued at 3 million GHS. The event drew a diverse crowd including Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Ludwig Teye Totimeh, Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. James Enu, assembly members, media representatives, and other dignitaries. This development promises to bring essential medical services directly to the Adjei-Kojo community, complete with residential facilities for staff to ensure rapid response to health emergencies.

In his address, Hon. Totimeh emphasized the clinic’s role in addressing long-standing healthcare access challenges for residents, who currently rely on distant facilities like Ashaiman or Tema General Hospital. He described the project as a thoughtful intervention designed to provide prompt medical attention, reducing travel burdens and improving outcomes for urgent cases. The MCE further announced that today’s ceremony marks the official start not only for the clinic but for all municipal projects outlined for the year, signaling a commitment to comprehensive development.
The 3 million GHS initiative includes both the clinic infrastructure and staff accommodations, with construction now underway following the sod-cutting. Hon. Totimeh assured attendees that he would personally oversee progress to guarantee all projects become fully operational within the planned timeline. This move underscores the assembly’s focus on prioritizing citizen welfare through tangible infrastructure improvements.
Complementing the health project, MP Hon. James Enu highlighted ongoing efforts to tackle transportation woes in Adjei-Kojo, including the construction of an under-bridge leading to a flyover. He addressed persistent issues like traffic congestion and flooding, which have plagued the area, and reaffirmed plans to reconstruct key roads across Tema West. Enu’s remarks paint a broader picture of holistic progress, linking healthcare advancements with critical transport upgrades to enhance daily life for constituents.
