“Simple English Dey Worry Us” – Bongo Ideas Sparks Lyrical War Between SarkNatives and Manifans!

Ghanaian social media is on fire once again—and this time, it’s all thanks to a hot take by controversial online personality Bongo Ideas.

In a Facebook post,  Bongo boldly claimed that the reason most Ghanaians prefer Sarkodie over M.anifest is not necessarily because of bars, but because of… English!

According to the post, “Simple English dey worry us. Kumasi people hear ‘Twediapon3 ny3 mistake’ and feel it deep in their soul, but when M.anifest starts rapping in Queen’s English, we just dey nod like we understand, but deep down we dey confused.”

Now, if you’ve ever been caught vibing hard to M.anifest’s “god MC” while secretly googling “subterfuge” and “dichotomy,” Bongo might just have a point.

But he didn’t stop there—he went on to crown M.anifest the true “professor” when it comes to punchlines, rhymes, and lyrical depth. However, he admitted that Sarkodie’s relatable bars and catchy hooks like “You know say money no be problem” win the hearts of the masses.

While this might just be another day in Ghana’s never-ending rap debate, one thing’s for sure—whether it’s Queen’s English or Twi bars, Ghana’s hip hop scene is richer because of both lyrical titans.

So who do you stan: The People’s Champ Sarkodie or the Lyrical Professor M.anifest? Either way, as Bongo put it, “Simple English dey worry us”—but we’re still here for the vibes!
