Semenyo moving to Tottenham will make no football sense – Matthew Amoah
Former Ghana international Matthew Amoah has praised Antoine Semenyo for his impressive performances at Bournemouth and believes the forward should remain at the club despite transfer speculation.
The 25-year-old has been in top form this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His performances have attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Napoli.
Semenyo has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with reports suggesting the North London club is preparing a 40 million (£33.5 million) bid for him.
However, Amoah feels Semenyo is in the right place and should not rush into a move.
“He’s doing his job very well at a club that also appreciates his work and efforts, with fans singing his name day in and day out,” Africa Foot.
“Bournemouth are currently a better team than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no football sense.”
Semenyo is expected to be called up for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
