Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, the Member of Parliament for the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency in the Eastern Region, has warned residents living in flood-prone areas. He urged them to relocate to higher ground as the intensity of the rain increased.
This warning follows recent heavy rains that have affected parts of the country. Hon. Terlabi emphasized the need for heightened caution during this period. In an interview with Ahotor 92.3 FM, he highlighted the likelihood of more rain in the coming days, which could increase the risk of flooding in vulnerable areas.
Hon. Terlabi’s advice aims to mitigate the impact of flooding, which often leads to significant property damage and endangers lives. By moving to higher ground, residents can reduce their exposure to floodwaters and minimize the likelihood of harm.
He stressed the importance of preparedness, urging individuals and communities to stay informed about weather forecasts and to heed warnings from relevant authorities. This proactive approach, he noted, is crucial in ensuring safety and reducing the adverse effects of flooding.
