Security Consultant Richard Komadoe Reacts to Missing ECG Containers: “It’s Not About Security Lapses, It’s Fraud”

Renowned security consultant and analyst, Mr. Richard Komadoe has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers, revealing that 40 of them have now been found. Speaking on Ahotor FM with Nana Dogbey, Mr. Komadoe dismissed claims that the containers were simply misplaced, asserting that they were deliberately sold to an Indian national.

According to Mr. Komadoe, the containers were removed from the port either before the new government assumed office or during the transition period. He strongly refuted suggestions that the containers went missing due to security lapses, stating, “This is not about the mismanagement of goods and services, nor is it about security lapses. This is pure fraud and criminality.”

He emphasized that the removal of the containers was a calculated act, orchestrated by individuals who knew exactly what they were doing. “Containers are not birds to fly away. People knew precisely where they were taking them and made a deliberate effort to bypass the usual channels,” Mr. Komadoe said.

He called for a thorough investigation, insisting that those involved in the fraudulent removal of the containers be held accountable. “This is a clear case of organized crime. The containers didn’t just vanish into thin air; they were intentionally taken out of the system for illicit purposes,” he added.

Mr. Komadoe’s comments shed light on the deeper issues surrounding the disappearance of the containers, urging authorities to treat the case as a serious breach of trust and integrity rather than a mere logistical mishap

Mr. Richard Komadoe has made a damning revelation about the disappearance of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers, stating unequivocally that politicians are responsible for the scandal. Speaking on Ahotor FM, Mr. Komadoe dismissed suggestions that the issue stemmed from failures within the Tema port systems or security intelligence, instead placing the blame squarely on political figures.

“This has nothing to do with the Tema system, intelligence, or security lapses. It is purely the work of politicians,” Mr. Komadoe asserted. He explained that the containers were deliberately sold to Indian and Chinese nationals, highlighting the active involvement of certain board members of ECG who authorized questionable deals. “These board members signed off on this corrupt transaction, took the money, and knowingly betrayed the trust of Ghanaians,” he said.

He called for decisive action against those involved, emphasizing the need for accountability. “These criminals must be arrested, jailed, or forced to return the stolen billions to Ghana. Selling such assets and turning around to sell them back to ECG at $300,000 is nothing short of disgraceful,” he fumed.

Mr. Komadoe expressed frustration with the lack of action taken against the perpetrators. “If you saw all of this happening and did nothing about it, you are even more dangerous than the devil,” he remarked, urging law enforcement and the government to prioritize justice in this matter.

His comments underline the urgency for a thorough investigation into the case, which has sparked widespread outrage. Ghanaians are demanding accountability from both the political and corporate actors implicated in this scandal, with hopes that the missing billions will be recovered and justice served.
