Sarfo Duku Urges Kotoko Caretaker Coaches to Impress in Hearts Encounter

Asante Kotoko’s Communication Director, Sarfo Duku Esq., has issued a strong call to the club’s caretaker coaches, Prince Owusu and Hamza Obeng, urging them to deliver an inspiring performance in Sunday’s highly anticipated clash against Accra Hearts of Oak.

Speaking in an interview on Pure FM, Sarfo Duku explained that the club accepted the resignation of head coach Karim Zito following mounting pressure from supporters amid a run of disappointing results.

“We accepted the resignation letter from head coach Karim Zito because there were even rumours that supporters would invade the pitch if he sat on the bench again due to the club’s poor performance,” Duku stated.

With the technical bench now under interim leadership, Duku expressed confidence in the caretaker duo but emphasized the importance of securing a positive result in the Super Clash.

“Since the coach is not around, I challenge the caretakers to do well against Hearts of Oak on Sunday. We will not hesitate to place our faith in them if they perform strongly during this stop-gap period. They will be the first coaches considered when the time comes to appoint a substantive head coach,” he added.

Sunday’s encounter is expected to carry added significance, with the Porcupine Warriors eager to reignite belief among their supporters and shift momentum back in their favour against their fiercest rivals.
