Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has voiced his disappointment following his side’s goalless draw against Accra Hearts of Oak in Matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Bibires battled the Phobians to a stalemate in a lively contest at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the decisive touch.
Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare produced a key first-half save to keep Chelsea at bay, while defender Mohammed Seidu delivered a vital goal-line clearance to deny the Phobians.
At the other end, Chelsea shot-stopper Eric Ofori Antwi made an excellent stop to thwart Mawuli Wayo as Hearts pressed for a breakthrough.
Despite the competitive nature of the encounter, neither side managed to convert their opportunities, with resolute defending and a lack of clinical finishing defining the afternoon.
Speaking after the match, Boadu cut a frustrated figure, lamenting the dropped points against his former club.
“I’m not happy at all because we came into the match determined to secure all three points. It’s quite unfortunate that we drew. Considering our position on the table, this is not the result we wanted,” he said.
The result leaves Hearts trailing league leaders Medeama SC by five points, while Berekum Chelsea remain 15th, three points adrift of safety as the relegation battle gathers momentum.
