Rockets Jalen Green named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

Jalen Green had been great this past week and The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that he was named the NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for January 13-19. Green helped the Rockets to a 3-1 record last week, and he averaged 32.5 points per game on 60.5 percent shooting from the field and 63.6 percent from deep.
He tallied 42, 34, 28 and 26 points in Houston’s four games. Green has averaged 21.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on 43.6 percent shooting from the floor and 36 per cent from deep on the season. Over his last 15 games, Green has averaged 25.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists on 48.4 per cent from the field and 43.2 percent from three-pointers.
The Rockets currently sit in second place in the Western Conference at 28-14, as they are a half-game in front of the Memphis Grizzlies and seven games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. Green’s more consistent play has been one of the main reasons why the Houston Rockets have been so good this season along with a good defence, Alperen Sengun continuing to develop and Amen Thompson coming into his own to help the team.
The Rockets lost their first game of the week this week to the Detroit Pistons and now have a home-and-home series coming up with the Cleveland Cavaliers to finish out the week. They’ll need Green to be at his best for that two-game set with the Cavaliers.
