Nana Wiredu, Deputy PRO of the Concern Drivers Association, emphasizes the need for engagement between the Road Minister and stakeholders to address concerns.

As drivers spend most of their time on the road, their input on road structure would be invaluable.

Nana Wiredu welcomes the introduction of electronic road toll payment, citing its potential to simplify tax collection, ensure accountability, and facilitate smooth traffic flow.

This digitalization effort aligns with Ghana’s goal of modernizing its road toll system.

In fact, audit firm PricewaterhouseCoopers recommends digital solutions for road tolls collection, highlighting its benefits in efficiency and revenue generation.

The electronic toll system would eliminate the need for physical toll booths, reducing congestion and pollution.

It would also provide a secure and transparent way of collecting road taxes, with features like electronic vehicle recognition and automated payment systems.

Key benefits of the electronic toll system include:

*Improved Revenue Collection*: Estimated annual revenue of GHC 157,680,000

– *Reduced Congestion*: Automated toll collection will minimize traffic delays
