Michael Ampadu’s time at Hearts of Oak has been a rollercoaster of events. After joining the club as a free agent following his departure from Legon Cities FC, he was expected to be a key reinforcement, especially with the exits of Robert Addo Sowah and Konadu Yiadom. However, his journey took an unexpected turn when he fell out with head coach Aboubakar Ouattara mid0-season last year, leading to a significant reduction in his playing time.
Despite the setback, Ampadu made efforts to mend his relationship with Ouattara, eventually reconciling with the coach earlier in 2025. This allowed him to return to training, but unfortunately, he still struggled to secure regular game time. As the 2025/26 season approaches, reports indicate that Ampadu will not be part of Hearts of Oak’s future plans and is set to leave as a free agent.
His departure raises questions about his next move. Given his experience and versatility, he could attract interest from several clubs, both within Ghana and beyond. Whether he will find a team that values his skill set remains to be seen, but his determination to overcome challenges suggests that he still has more to offer in his career.
