Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur has been appointed as the acting Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) by President John Mahama. With over 30 years of experience in the aviation sector, Rev. Arthur brings a wealth of knowledge in air transport, economic regulation, business development, and strategic planning.
In his new role, he is focused on advancing the government’s objectives for the growth of the aviation industry, with an emphasis on safety, security, and operational excellence. Rev. Arthur’s leadership will aim to further position Ghana as a global aviation leader, with a focus on innovation, infrastructure development, and adherence to international standards.
Having served with the GCAA for nearly three decades, Rev. Arthur has held various leadership roles. His most recent position was Director of Economic Regulation and Business Development, where he worked from January 2019 to March 2025. As the acting Director-General, he is dedicated to fostering a safe, secure, and competitive aviation environment that aligns with Ghana’s broader economic development goals.
