Tema, Ghana – Secretary General of the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL), Abraham Koomson, has sharply criticized Assin South Member of Parliament, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, for making what he describes as baseless allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.
Mr. Koomson accused Rev. Fordjour of attempting to emulate North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who has become widely known for exposing alleged corruption within the Akufo-Addo administration.
However, the GFL boss noted a stark difference between the two politicians, emphasizing that while Ablakwa backs his claims with documented evidence, Rev. Fordjour has failed to present any credible proof.
“Rev. Ntim Fordjour wants to behave like Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, but Ablakwa had facts,” Mr. Koomson stated during an interview on Ahotor FM’s Yepe Ahunu program with host Nana Dogbe.
Rev. Fordjour had claimed that two aircraft — an AirMed flight (NH23AM) and a Cavok Air private jet (Antonov AN-12B) — landed in Ghana between March 20 and March 25, 2025, allegedly transporting cocaine and large sums of unverified cash.
The NPP MP called for immediate investigations into the matter.
In response, President John Mahama instructed National Security to probe the allegations thoroughly and encouraged Rev. Fordjour to cooperate fully with security agencies during the process.
But Abraham Koomson believes the allegations are part of a broader strategy by the NPP to destabilize the NDC-led government and discredit President Mahama’s administration.
“These are some of the tactics the NPP wants to use to confuse the NDC government and ensure the President fails,” Koomson asserted.
He further urged security agencies to take a firm stance against what he described as disruptive elements within the NPP who are not acting in the best interest of Ghanaians.
“If the NDC fails to act decisively against these schemes, it could seriously undermine their governance and hurt their chances in the 2028 elections,” he warned.
