“Regional Party Condemns Ho Central Tyre-Burning Protest, Calls for Police Action”

The leadership of the regional party has strongly condemned the recent incident at Ho Central, where some disgruntled youth reportedly burnt tyres in protest.

Seaking to Citizen Kofi Owusu on Ahotor FM, a party representative revealed preliminary findings from their investigation, indicating that the protesters were aggrieved over perceived inadequate recognition and opportunities. However, the party described the actions as “unnecessary and uncalled for,” emphasizing that such behaviour goes against the values and principles of the party.

“We understand that what they were calling for is linked to their claim of not being given enough opportunities. But as a regional party, we strongly condemn this act. It was unexpected, and we do not anticipate that any loyal party member who has worked so hard to bring us to power would resort to such destructive behavior barely two weeks into the new administration,” the representative stated.

He further stressed that damaging party property in the name of appointments or grievances is unacceptable. The party has since called on law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.

“We have asked the police to take up this matter, conduct a full investigation, and bring the perpetrators to book. Such acts of indiscipline must not be tolerated within the party,” he concluded.

The party urged its members to channel their concerns through proper and constructive means, reiterating its commitment to addressing issues in a fair and transparent manner.
