Recap of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Trial: Former Assistant Alleges Threats, Assaults, and a Plot Against Kid Cudi

A former employee of Sean “Diddy” Combs delivered explosive testimony this week, claiming the music mogul once threatened to kill rapper Kid Cudi after discovering he was dating singer Cassie Ventura.

Key Testimony from Ex-Assistant Capricorn Clark

Capricorn Clark, who worked closely with Combs in various roles from 2004 to 2018, testified during the third week of Combs’ federal trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Combs has pleaded not guilty.

Clark described a chilling encounter in December 2011, when Combs allegedly arrived at her home in the early morning hours, enraged and armed. According to Clark, Combs told her, “Get dressed, we’re going to go kill this n***a,” referring to Cudi. When she hesitated, he allegedly threatened her again, insisting she come with him.

She said they drove to Cudi’s residence, where Combs and a security guard entered the house while she remained outside and called Cassie to warn her. She recounted a brief car chase that followed when Cudi arrived but quickly drove off.

Clark also claimed that later, back at Combs’ home, he demanded that she and Cassie convince Cudi not to report the incident. “If you guys don’t convince him of that, I’ll kill all you m*therf**kers,” she quoted him as saying.

Kid Cudi’s Testimony

Earlier in the trial, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi) testified that after Combs found out about his relationship with Cassie, his Porsche was destroyed by a Molotov cocktail. Combs denied any involvement, but Cudi said he didn’t believe him.

Additional Allegations from Clark

Clark’s testimony painted a broader picture of a toxic and threatening work environment. She detailed multiple alleged threats from Combs, including one on her first day when he referenced her past association with Death Row Records and said he would “have to kill” her if anything happened.

She also recalled a disturbing incident in 2006 when Combs accused her of theft, subjected her to multiple polygraph tests in a vacant building, and she was told she’d be thrown into the East River if she failed.

Clark described several physical and verbal altercations with Combs, including one where he pushed her out of his house for complaining about the work environment. She left the job afterward but later returned in different roles.

Claims of Industry Blacklisting

After leaving Combs’ orbit, Clark said she struggled to find work in the music industry. She testified that she believed she was blacklisted and was warned by Interscope Records executives to “leave Combs alone.” However, parts of this testimony were struck from the record.

Despite the trauma, Clark admitted under cross-examination that she met with Combs’ legal team in 2024 and discussed possibly working for him again. She said she told them he “wouldn’t be in this mess if he had kept [her] around.”

Emotional Breakdown on the Stand

Clark became visibly emotional during her testimony, at one point sobbing as she read old emails she had sent to Combs asking for forgiveness. “That email is me pleading, like, ‘Dude, let it go,’” she said.

Background of the Trial

This testimony follows earlier accounts from Cassie Ventura, who said Combs physically abused her and coerced her into participating in sex parties called “Freak Offs.” Prosecutors allege Combs used threats, violence, drugs, and intimidation to control Ventura and another woman. The defense has acknowledged Combs’ violent behavior but denies the federal criminal charges.
