Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President Jerry John Rawlings, has expressed serious misgivings about comments made by a flagbearer hopeful of the party and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin which disparaged the appointment of two persons with disabilities in the last NDC government.
Bagbin reportedly attributed the poor performance of the previous NDC government in the last Presidential and Parliamentary elections to the appointment of the two challenged persons.
The former President who is also the Chairman of the party’s Council of Elders, said the comments of Mr. Bagbin were unacceptable and contrary to the values and principles of social inclusion of the NDC party.
“Such utterances have the tendency to negatively affect the unity and cohesion of the party,” the former President stated.
