Qatar World Cup: Three Lions kick Teranga Lions out of Qatar

England defeated Senegal 3-0 to record the biggest round of 16 victories at the 2022 FIFA World Cup so far and reached the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals for the second time in a row.

The Three Lions set up a quarter-final clash with France thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

England keeper Jordan Pickford played a vital part in the victory with an important save before England had got in front.

He did well to keep out a Boulaye Dia shot in the 35th minute at a stage Senegal were causing Gareth Southgate’s side some problems.

That featured in a third consecutive clean sheet in the Qatar tournament for the 28-year-old goalkeeper.

Four minutes after Pickford’s impressive stop, Jude Bellingham set up fellow midfielder Henderson to slot England in front.

Kane then dobled the lead shortly before half-time after a break from Bellingham and a pass from Phil Foden.

And England’s margin was made more emphatic in the 57th minute when Foden supplied Saka to score his third goal of the tournament with a deft finish.

It set up a last-eight clash with holders France, who defeated Poland 3-1 earlier on Sunday.
