PURC Closely Monitoring Ghana Water to Meet Deadline, Kumasi to Receive Running Water by March 19

Residents of Kumasi and its surrounding areas are expected to have access to running water by March 19, 2025, following assurances from the Ghana Water Company. The company has been working tirelessly to meet the deadline of March 17-19, 2025, as promised to the public.

Residents have been facing difficulties in accessing clean water for domestic use, and the water shortage has also affected businesses and institutions in the area. The lack of access to clean water has raised concerns about public health and sanitation.

According to Mr. Richard Aseidu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Ashanti Region, the Ghana Water Company has been in constant communication with PURC. They have expressed their commitment to improving the water supply to the people of Kumasi and its environs, who have been facing severe water shortages.

PURC has been closely monitoring Ghana Water’s progress, and all necessary work is expected to be completed by the end of tomorrow. Once completed, running water should be restored to the affected areas, bringing relief to residents who have been struggling with water scarcity.
