Ghanaian preacher and founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has stirred widespread reactions after claiming he received a revelation concerning the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi.
Speaking in a viral video, Prophet Kumchacha alleged that he saw Chairman Wontumi dying in Nsawam Prison if he remained incarcerated until next year.
Describing the vision as a divine warning rather than a declaration of fate, the outspoken preacher urged Wontumi’s family, friends, and supporters to intensify their prayers, saying spiritual intervention could change the outcome.
The prophecy comes shortly after the High Court in Accra sentenced Chairman Wontumi to 20 years’ imprisonment for assigning mineral rights granted to his company, Akonta Mining Limited, to two individuals without obtaining approval from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources.
He was also handed another 20-year sentence for facilitating an unlicensed mining operation on the Samreboi concession, contrary to the Minerals and Mining Act. The case, which lasted more than a year, attracted significant public and media attention.
Prophet Kumchacha maintained that revelations are often intended to warn people so they can seek God’s intervention through prayer, rather than to spread fear.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some Ghanaians calling for prayers for the embattled politician while others have questioned the public disclosure of such prophecies.
Neither Chairman Wontumi nor his legal team has publicly responded to Prophet Kumchacha’s latest claims.
