Pressure Group Wants Head Teachers in Assin Sacked for Lack of Proper Sex Education

The Network for ASSIN Development is calling on the government as a matter of urgency to sack all the Head Teachers of both the Basic and Senior High Schools in Assin in the Central Region for failing to give their students proper sex education.

According to them, teenage pregnancy has sky rocked in the area leading to unnecessary school drop-out in the Assin Land.

The Convener, Kwame Adobah indicated that the Assin Development network has noted with concerns the lack of proper sex education by teachers in the various schools leading to rising teenage pregnancies in the communities and towns.

“Because we believed it is important for schools to grow the habit of giving sex education to teenagers to reduce high birth. We are calling on all the stakeholders including DCE, MCE, and Gender Minister to collaborate to enact laws to regulate irresponsible patenting, Moreso, parents who fail to take proper care of their wards must be arrested,” the group noted.

He is calling on all stakeholders, opinion leaders and faith-based Organisations to help fight the incidence of teenage pregnancy in Assin.
