Presidential Adviser Joyce Bawah Mogtari is seeking GHS 10 million in compensation from Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, for allegedly making false and damaging statements about her. The claims were made during a March 2025 interview on Net 2 TV.
Abronye DC reportedly stated that Joyce was advised against pursuing a ministerial role and instead accepted a less challenging position as a presidential staffer, earning GHS 95,000 monthly. He also suggested that her high salary led to her becoming disrespectful towards Ghanaians.
In response, Joyce’s lawyers from R.O. Solomon Consulting have issued a letter urging Abronye DC to retract his statements and issue a public apology. The letter asserts that the claims are false and damaging to Joyce’s reputation.
Joyce Bawah Mogtari was appointed as a Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to the President, a role that showcases her expertise in governance and diplomacy. Her appointment was announced on January 21, 2024, alongside other key appointments to the Office of the President.
The case is ongoing, with Joyce’s legal team pushing for a retraction and apology from Abronye DC. The outcome will determine whether Abronye DC will comply with the request or face further action.
