President Mahama’s ORAL Team Presents Final Report: The 10 Initial Benefits

Accra, Ghana – The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, established by President John Dramani Mahama to investigate and address corruption-related activities, has officially presented its final report to the President.

Chairman of the ORAL Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, outlined ten key achievements of the initiative, emphasizing its impact on transparency, accountability, and the recovery of state assets.

Key Achievements of ORAL:

1. Strengthened Transparency and Accountability – The initiative has reinforced Ghana’s commitment to good governance and the fight against corruption.

2. Prevented the Demolition of 50 State-Owned Bungalows – ORAL, in collaboration with National Security, intervened to save bungalows belonging to CSIR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Gender Ministry from demolition.

3. Secured National Development Authority (NDA) Land in Cantonments – The team worked with National Security to prevent the unlawful acquisition of NDA property.

4. Stopped Illegal Takeovers of State Assets – ORAL successfully halted multiple attempted takeovers of government-owned properties across the country.

5. Resolved Clashes at the Dubois Center – The team intervened to restore order after a dispute between staff of the Tourism Ministry and the privately owned Dubois Foundation, which claimed to have secured a transfer agreement.

6. Protected Agricultural Mechanization Lands – ORAL prevented encroachments on lands designated for agricultural development.

7. Halted the Demolition of Ghana Museums and Monuments Board Staff Quarters – The committee stopped an attempt to unlawfully demolish residences belonging to museum staff.

8. Provided a Peaceful Channel for Reporting State Asset Looting – ORAL offered a structured and non-confrontational platform for citizens to raise concerns about corruption and misappropriation.

9. Enabled Voluntary Restitution of State Assets – The initiative created an avenue for individuals of interest to come forward and return state-owned assets or funds.

10. Gained International Recognition for Forensic Investigations – ORAL’s success has drawn significant local and international interest, leading to requests for forensic collaboration to track and recover looted state resources hidden offshore.

The ORAL initiative marks a bold step in Ghana’s anti-corruption fight, demonstrating President Mahama’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring accountability in governance.
