President Mahama Urges Churches to Lead in Planting Congregations in Unreached Areas of the Ashanti Region

Kumasi, Ghana – The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has called on churches to collaborate in expanding their outreach, ensuring that the message of Christ reaches even the most remote communities.

Speaking during the Kumasi edition of the President Mahama Fellowship with the Clergy, he emphasized the importance of unity among churches in spreading the gospel.

“I therefore encourage churches to collaborate in expanding their outreach and ensuring that the message of Christ reaches even the most remotest communities,” he said.

Churches Must Work Together, Not Compete

President Mahama urged Christians and churches to focus on their shared faith rather than competing with one another.

“As churches and Christians, we share the same faith. We are not in competition with each other. After all, in Matthew 9 verse 37, it tells us the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. And so let’s pray to the Lord of the harvest to send more laborers. So we need even more churches. We need more men of God. And so we are not in competition with each other,” he said.

He reminded the clergy that all Christians are workers in God’s vineyard, and there is enough room for everyone to contribute meaningfully to the spiritual growth of the nation.

“We are all workers in the Lord’s vineyard, and there’s a lot for all of us to harvest. And so we must eschew every sense of competition, every sense of envy and arrogance,” he stated.

Expanding Christian Presence in the Ashanti Region

President Mahama encouraged the church to take the lead in planting new congregations in unreached areas of the Ashanti Region, emphasizing that many communities still lack a strong Christian presence.

“I urge the church to lead in planting new congregations in unreached areas of the Ashanti Region,” he said.

He further stressed that church-planting efforts could bring light and hope to places where Christian influence remains limited.

“Many communities still lack a strong Christian presence, and church planting efforts can bring light and hope to these places,” he stated.

Upholding Morality and Family Values

Beyond evangelism, President Mahama encouraged Christians to play a vital role in shaping society by promoting morality, strong family values, and responsible citizenship.

“We must continue to forge a sense of morality, family values, and responsible citizenship in our people,” he said.
