President Mahama unveils 10-member power team for Vice President’s office

In a decisive move to bolster the administrative machinery of the Office of the Vice President, President John Dramani Mahama has approved the appointment of 10 individuals to key positions under the leadership of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

This development underscores the administration’s commitment to assembling a competent and experienced team to advance its agenda.

Among the appointees is former Health Minister, Alex Segbefia, who will assume the influential role of Chief of Staff to the Vice President. Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a stalwart of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been entrusted with the critical position of Political Policy Advisor, reflecting the administration’s focus on leveraging deep political expertise.

In the realm of media and public communication, Ama Pratt, daughter of renowned journalist Kwesi Pratt, has been named Press Secretary. Her appointment signifies a deliberate effort to merge dynamic communication strategies with generational insight. Additionally, Mrs. Alberta Graham will bring her administrative acumen to the role of Head of Administration.

The appointments, announced in a statement by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, also include Mrs. Theresah Ennin as Presidential Staffer and Aide to the Vice President, along with others who are expected to contribute to the smooth functioning of the Vice President’s office.

These appointments signal a strategic effort by the administration to strengthen its operational and policy capacities as it seeks to deliver on its mandate.
