Accra, Ghana – The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, has revoked the appointment of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng as the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF).
In a letter issued from the Office of the President and signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, Mr. Koranteng was directed to relinquish his duties with immediate effect.
He has been instructed to hand over responsibilities to the President’s representative at the Ministry of Finance.
The letter further outlined the interim leadership arrangement, naming Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as the official to oversee the operations of the Fund until a substantive Chief Executive Officer is appointed.
While announcing the revocation, President Mahama extended his appreciation to the outgoing CEO for his service and contributions during his tenure.
“The President extends his gratitude to Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng for his dedicated service to the Minerals Income and Investment Fund,” the letter stated.
The Minerals Income and Investment Fund, established to manage the country’s mineral royalties and related investments, plays a critical role in Ghana’s economic development.
This leadership change reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure the effective management and optimization of the Fund’s resources.
This development signals President Mahama’s commitment to reinforcing accountability and operational efficiency in key national institutions.
